“Player”: Tinashe Drops The ‘Joyride’ Game Changer

Tinashe just went and fucked the game up.

I thought I warned you bitches to buckle up…

After giving us a taste of her “Party Favors” to tide us over, Tinashe — born SLAY-na-shay, or in some dialects, Ti-na-SLAY — just threw down the official Joyride lead single, and…

BOY, YOU GOT ME ALL FUCKED UP.

“Player” is the natural, pop-oriented evolution from her “2 On” Aquarius days: The LULOU and Alex Purple-produced track is an icy burst of energy, full of spine-tingling beats, distant “AY“-s and a secret smash-ah of a chorus that doesn’t even fully reveal itself until the 1:22 mark.

“I’d like to figure out how to do that uptempo. I’m definitely trying to make songs that are hooky enough to cross over,” Tinashe told SPIN back in June.

“Player” fits the sound she wanted. Tinashe is the genre-blurring pop star we needed..

When words fail, only GIFs can truly suffice.

SHE WON’T BE IGNORED.

There’s a version without Chris Brown, too. You got options.

“Player” will be released on October 2.
