“I Feel So Free”: Madonna Kicks Off ‘Confessions II’

Thanks for coming.

“I FEEL SO FREE.”

Like the Confessions on a Dance Floor campaign kicked off two decades ago, the first taste of new music from Confessions II arrives today (April 18) in the form of first listen radio spins, club night debuts (come and meet me on the dance floor tonight…) and a frenzy of fan panic online. (No, it’s not out yet on streaming. Yes, it’s coming – and no, this is not the lead single.)

And just as ABBA’s “Gimme, Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)” provides the heartbeat of “Hung Up,” Lil Louis’ “French Kiss” supplies the horny moans and groans that guide “I Feel So Free,” a five-minute pulsating, orgasmic opus that opens the record and sets the tone. (Don’t be a vibe kill…)

Instead of the anxious tick-tock of the clock to open this record, we’re plunged into an ambient synth haze, courtesy of ever-dependable maestro, Stuart Price.

It’s “Future Lovers / I Feel Love.” It’s Chicago House 1989. It’s “I Don’t Search I Find.” It’s “Erotica” dressed in Confessions clothing.

It’s perfect.

And it’s exactly where Madonna is meant to be. 🪩
