I don’t understand.
Literally, I’m just sort of sitting here silently shaking in confusion and anger while I mull over the contents of that WHAAA?!-fest.
What the fuck was that, Britney?
I love you. I’m you’re biggest fan. But did no one set stop to think, “Hey…this concept is a little–I don’t know–weird.” Or “Maybe she should dance.” Or “WHY ARE SPRAYING DOWN THE HORSES ALL SEXILY?!”
THIS IS HORSE PORN, BRITNEY.
I am so enraged. And confused. And–and…I don’t even know!
Britney Spears, ladies and gentlemen…the only pop star I can truly say that will forever keep me guessing.
Bitch looked gorgeous, though…even if she’s literally mental.
P.S. Does anyone else think this concept would have worked much better for “Amnesia”? Someone should dub it over with that song–at least the video would actually make some kind of sense.
Please do yourselves a favor and watch Florence & The Machine‘s performance of “Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)” live on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross.
Who else felt Kate Bush and Stevie Nicks being channeled directly on stage? Because I did. Everything works here–the energy, the appearance, the voice. The cool blues of the lighting contrasted against Florence’s fiery red hair and witchy vibrancy–what a force to be reckoned with!
STUNNING.
Florence & The Machine’s debut (and probable contender for album of the year) is coming out next week. If you’re from the US, click below to hear more.![]()

Today is the official release of Moby‘s ninth studio album, Wait For Me. You can pick up a 12″ or a physical CD at Moby’s store.
I don’t know if I’ll get around to ‘properly’ reviewing it, so just in case:
It is good–I’ve just not managed to listen the whole way through without falling asleep. Not a criticism–just a heavy sedative of an album. The title track, “Wait For Me,” is pretty stunning in its own right, however.

As many of my Tweet friends know (ARE YOU FOLLOWING ME YET?!), I’m usually not a big fan of mixtapes in the inbox. Call me snooty, but…if you want me to hear your song, don’t send it mashed in between twenty sub-par electroclash tracks–just give it to me straight.
However, I don’t mind MPHO‘s Art of Pop series one bit. Why? Mainly because it’s got some Grace Jones and Beysus in it, but also because it’s enjoyable background sound for the work week! Plus, it’s got plenty of snippets from MPHO’s debut album, Pop Art, due later this year.

Alright, so this is a slight deviation from the standard MuuMuse post, but it bears retweeting.
If you’re a fan of spinning Dark Side of the Moon while watching The Wizard of Oz, you’ll probably love this.
His name is Pogo, an Australian beat masher with a fondness for all things Disney. His game? To pick out choice vocal bits and sounds from Disney classics and craft them into stylish trip-hop beats and slinky air-pop melodica.
The artist was first brought to my attention by Muuser Brian with the brilliantly sleepy “Alice,” a truly mesmerizing take on Alice in Wonderland that merits at least one spin nightly before bedtime (see above).
Today, the mixer has put together a video for “Scrumdiddlyumptious,” a sprightly up-tempo mix of Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory. And, while not entirely positive, I’m pretty sure he’s managed to mash the chorus to say “They want to make sex the miracle.” Genius, even if it wasn’t intended.
Click here to go to Pogo’s MySpace, where you can download ALL of these tracks for free.

I’ve literally been meaning to create this post for six months.
The greatest ballad on Beyoncé‘s I Am…Sasha Fierce is not “Halo,” “Broken Hearted Girl,” or even “Ave Maria.”
It is “Smash Into You,” produced by The-Dream.
“Smash Into You” is, by all accounts, utterly epic. It’s a slow builder, chugging along at a knowing, confident pace before smashing (!) the listener into an incredibly adept chorus that only becomes that much more divine after each repetition.
But nothing on that entire album, and I repeat nothing, matches the shivers that run through after hitting the bridge 3:45 minutes into the song: “I’m ready to run, run, run, ooh, ooh, ooh!” It is the epitome of sonic climax; an aural release of religious proportion that your God-fearing great-aunt could only dream of experiencing.
Hyperbolic? Who, me? Never.
Thanks to the more-often-than-not-reliable Wikipedia, I’ve learned that the track was originally recorded by Jon McLaughlin and entitled “Smack Into You.” Mercifully, the name (and subsequent lyric) were changed for Beysus’ purposes. Still, you can hear his alternately composed, slightly less wonderful version now on YouTube, accompanied by a fuzzy still frame of his pretty face right here. I really think tweaking that “ick” into an “ish” makes all the difference in the world, don’t you? Plus, his ending blows.
There now…I feel at peace with myself.

Get the fuck out of my George Foreman and PAY. ATTENTION.
Mariah Carey has just posted pictures onto her website from the set of “Obsessed,” currently being filmed at the Plaza Hotel in New York City.
As you can see, Carey has opted for the mini-dress and high heels look, which is very different from what she usually wears.
See the other two shots of this very same pose right here.

Great news everyone! Utada’s new single for the upcoming film Evangelion 2.0 is now out! And guess what?! There’s even better news…YOU’VE HEARD IT ALREADY.
On June 27, Utada‘s official site declared the “new” theme song to be “Beautiful World -PLANiTb Acoustica Mix-.” Yes, the same single from 2007 used in the first Evangelion film.
I’m just bitter that promotion for This Is The One has probably ceased for good.
If it’s any consolation, it’s a very nice remix.
