“Paparazzi” Marks Fourth US Number One for Gaga.
Filed in: Britney Spears, Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” has climbed to #1 this week, granting the Gags her fourth #1 single from her 2008 album, The Fame. This would make Gaga the only artist in history produce four #1 singles off of a debut album.
On a semi-related note, Britney secured her third #1 in her eleven year career only two weeks ago. Sort of puts things in perspective, no?

amazing.
Bwahahaha… LONG LIVE THE GAGA!
sure, on “radio airplay”. if she could do that on the HOT 100, that would be saying something. britney also sold ten million plus of BOTH her first two albums. while i do like lady gaga, she’ll be lucky if her debut breaks two million.
Um, I don’t know how I’m now in the position of defending Gaga, but she’s already sold four million of her debut.
And also, Britney Spears’ debut record was released at a time when music piracy wasn’t at its peak in any shape or form. 4 Million copies of your debut in this day and age is an astonishing accomplishment.
LoveGame didn’t reach #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
She sold 4 million WORLDWIDE.
Of course, that’s still very impressive but let’s not get too carried away.
But she sure does know how to market herself so I wouldn’t be surprised if she’ll have more number one hits than Britney.
